BMSD statement on cancellation of 'Islam4uk' marchLONDON, Saturday 31 October 2009
When Anjem Choudhry called his March for Sharia, he did not expect to be opposed by liberal Muslim democrats and their friends, fed up with the rotten image he and his small band of fundamentalist thugs were creating for ordinary British Muslims. Faced with a coalition of British people of all faiths and none, led by British Muslim for Secular Democracy, Anjem Chouhdry's Islam4UK took the only option open to them.
They ran away.
BMSD Spokesperson, Dr Shaaz Mahboob said:
"This is a victory for those who support the values that define this country's 's liberal democracy. British people refuse to be divided by extremism. When we stand firm against sectarian bigots, we cannot lose. Let's hope this is the end of Andy Choudhry and his mob."
British Muslims for Secular Democracy have pledged to oppose Islam4UK whenever and wherever they next demonstrate on the streets of Britain.
